Finally!

So it finally got to me. Turns out I am not completely immune, as previously thought. I survived patient 432 kissing me on the cheek with it, nothing. I survived a couple of weddings and concerts that I thought doomed me, traveled to America, and still nothing. WE thought our luck ran out 2 weeks ago, but it turns out it was "just" flu and strep (much worse than COVID at this point). Omicron is here, and it finally hit me.

We came to Modiin, and Saba Dov started not feeling well. He and Hadar were both diagnosed as positive (He felt fine quickly, Hadar has some more long-lastnig effects). At that point, we decided to split up, and have a healthy house/sick house. Eitan and I moved in to my parents, while Shiff was resigned to her fate with Hadar. A couple days went by, and Ayala, Limor, and Shifra got it. The whole time, Eitan and I were playing and having fun at my parents, as kind of a guys getaway (My parents helped a ton so I was able to also work a little bit). It was awesome going back to get Pinuk living at my parents for a couple days, especially with my addition I hadn't had befrore (Eitan).

To get out of Bidud, you are required to have a negative official test. So the plan was to take Eitan on Motzash to stand in the crazy line in Ligad center, get his negative test, and take him back to Kedem so he could go back to Maon. Imagine our surprise when our little 2 year old, who was feeling and acting completely fine turned out to be positive. And imagine my surprise when I was on the way back to my parents with Buchman's Pizza to celebrate the end of Bidud, and I got a call from Shiff telling me that Eitan was positive. At that point, he wasn't going back to Maon, and I wasn't about to leave Shifra and her family with both of our kids. Also, I missed them like crazy. So (after we finished pizza of course),

I took one for the team, fully expecting to get it as well. I tested negative every day except the day before last, and finally, it was my turn. We stayed until the kids were out of Bidud, and drove back to Kedem while I was still sick, so they could go to Maon. My only symptom was extreme tiredness and back pain.

And let me tell you, it is such a relief to have kids who already had it.

Next year in Tehran?

Well, we knew it was coming, just didn't know when. Another crazy week in the '20s here in Israel. Thursday night was wonderful. it...
