Efficiency and Growth

In MOPs, there are many fires to put out, and little projects, but every once in a while, you get the opportunity to make a huge impact on the entire business. The past few weeks has been one of those ones, as I attempted to fix up the MQL to SQL conversion rate.

Today I had a big presentation, walking through the department leaders and C-Levels through my initiatives. It was a combination of Lead Scoring improvements, Lead Nurturing improvements, and SDR Process improvements. I showed what we had done, why we had done it, and showed a retraoctive look at 2022 had we done it before.

I felt condfident presenting (even though it is weird to present when half the people are in the room and half on zoom), and built a really nice deck (with animations too!). My CEO was impressed, as was our CRO, Head of Initiatives, Demand Gen, Product Marketing, Sales Director. Our Head of Initiatives said our CMO hadn't said anything, which I actually had not noticed until he said it, she's kind of off my radar at this point.

Overall, great feeling to present my work, have it received well, and I am excited to see what kind of impact it can make.

UPDATE: One week later, the CEO mentioned that I did a great job on it at the company wide 2023 program.

UPDATE 2: 3 weeks later, our CFO and head of initiatives walked everyone through my project at the SKO.

Raise Your Glass

Today I got called in to my manager's manager's office to meet with both of them. I showed them interesting things about Lead Scoring changes, and they liked it. Then they told me that even though I have only been with them for 3 months, we had worked together before and they love having me on the team. They continued by saying that they want to show their appreciation, they worked hard to get hte approvals, and would like to give me a 2k raise. They appreciate me, love having me around, and our CRO told them he thinks I am one of the smartest people he has ever worked with. Not bad for 3 Yechidot math.

Because no one is reading this, I can say numbers - it will be 28k. Here is my Salary bumps over the years in hitech:

1t:

  • Free - bought me courses
  • 5.5K - Hourly payment of 150 an hour while in Yeshiva
  • 9.5K - Brought on for full time
  • 12K - management decided to give me
  • 15K - I was interviewing somewhere else and told them I am being offer 18K, happy to stay for less but gap needs to be closer
Kry:
  • 21K - Salary requested when I changed company, accepted (1t tried to match but it was more about moving on for personal growth
Pan:
  • 26K - Salary requested when I changed company, accepted. (Kry tried to keep me by offering 24, but I was really hyped about Pan
  • 28K - as of January 1st, and was just let know today.
I reflect some times on those days where I had to wake up early to stock shelves, or even before I was married and was looking for jobs to do remotely. Never in one million years would I have imagined this comfortable, hybrid life, with Tenbis and good conditions. I am very blessed to be in this position. I got my opportunity early, took advantage, and have worked hard every day since. I know how fortunate I am, and I thank Hashem every day for the ability to provide for my family and be able to live a relatively comfortable life. I make sure to learn every day to ensure I remember what is important and who it is all from.

Brand New Lions

Last night, I woke up at 12:15 in the night. I had been planning to wake up at 1, but Eitan woke me up and I was ready to watch the Seahawks and Rams already. It looked like the Rams were going to pull it off, giving the Lions a chance to make the playoffs, but it wasn't to be (Thank you to Matt Patricia for sending off Quandre Diggs and the NFL officiating for 6 horrendous calls in the last 7 minutes of the 4th quarter). That took a little wind out of the excitement, but I was still excited to watch my football team for one last time this season. They went into Green Bay, who had everything to play for, and punched their gut. All of the building over the past two years, the amazing draft picks, the great coaching and play calling, the player development, the messages from Hard Knocks all came into play in this one. What a great moment to knock Rodgers out, after the years we have lived in fear from him. BRAND NEW LIONS. Eitan woke up to watch the final throat punches the Lions gave on the last drive, and I explained to him that these aren't his Pop's Lions.

Ari came over.  In between the games, we played some madden, and during the first quarter of the Lions game we had wings, fries, burgers, and onion rings. (After the game I davened and went to Tel Aviv for work.

I am buymmed we couldn't see this team in the playoffs, but ecstatic to see how they are building it and doing it right. Going 8-2 in the last 10 games, plus 5-1 in the division, knocking off our most hated team and player, all after starting off 1-6, was significant. So with the bummer feeling about not being in the tournament, I am so excited that I got to watch a very exciting Lions season, the most fun since at least 2014, and could not be more excited for the future. Is it September yet?

Touchdown Tommy

Today, we had our first game of the playoffs upper tier. We won 26-6. Because we weren't many, I got to put myself as offense a bunch today. It was an overcast day, but no heavy rains during game time. Our first touchdown, was me telling Zvi that I have my guy deep, and him trusting me for a 25 yard BOMB for a TD on the left side.

My next touchdown actually didn't count, as on 3rd and goal Zvi threw a low pass that I caught inches from the ground. One ref said catch, one said no catch, and so they went with no catch (I 100% caught it!). Next play, I needed to play TE and block. But as the play was breaking down, I saw an empty lane, and went for it. Zvi found me in the back of the end zone, for my first career multi TD game in this league. What an awesome feeling it was.

Lions Baby

For the first time since at least 2017, I am enjoying the Lions season. Don't get me wrong, its not like I missed games or blog posts since then, but this has been truly spectacular to watch the growth of this team. Going from 1-6 to 8-8 has been amazing to watch, and because I follow so closely in the offseaswon too, it is fun to see the moves paying off, and the young draft picks (Hutch, Amon-ra, Kerby, Penei, Jamo, Pascal, Houston, Rodrigo to name a few) take huge steps. I cannot remember if I have ever been this optimistic about our future. And one of the best parts of this season has been watching almost every game together with my Daddy,

Gosh I hope the Rams can win one for us this weekend and we take it to the Packers, symbolizing a new king of the North (the Vikings aren't good). But even if we don't make it because the Seahawks win, I will take much solace in knocking the cheeseheads out. Lets gooooo Lions!!!!!!

Gleefully Awake

So this wedding week has been amazing. Family time, Aufruf, Wedding, etc. But our kids were thrown off schedule. The first three nights after the wedding, Eitan was up most of the night and trying to come into our bed. Finally he had a good night two nights ago, but Hadar wouldn't sleep. Not sure I remember what it feels like to feel refreshed after a sleep. At least last night was football which had meaningful games for Detroit (when is the last time we could say that?).

I was gleeful when I got to wake them up in the mornings and they were pissed that they wanted to sleep more. I put on a cheerful tone, and opened the shades pretty quickly. Does that make me a bad person?

Next year in Tehran?

Well, we knew it was coming, just didn't know when. Another crazy week in the '20s here in Israel. Thursday night was wonderful. it...
