A Growing Snowball

This snowball is growing,
yet it started so small,
This world was sprinting,
now its back to a crawl,
45 souls were squeezed to death,
Then when benches fell,
three more took their last breaths,
Next along came the Italian cable car,
With the ropes that broke like a Kit Kat bar,
Rockets were shot, millions took cover,
And all the while, this pandemic still hovers,
Now just this week, 5 deaths by a bus,
And dozens more injured,
all people like us,
This snowball is growing,
it won’t fit in my hand,
The snowball must melt,
this can’t be the plan.
