When Left Isn't Right but Right Is Wrong

I went to the protests for five minutes, and I wished I didn't want to be there,

We need the reforms, but certainly not how it is being done - it's not worth it,

Not with the warnings from the subject matter experts, and not with this feeling in the nation,

I went because I think his time is done, firing a defense minister at a time like this is overboard.

I went because this government is focused on things that divide instead of bring together,

Stupid, useless, eye-in-your-finger rules about Chametz, the Kotel rule, and others too,

Instead of focusing on what's important, like security, the economy crashing, Iran, America, or even the reforms,

I went, but I shouldn't have been there, because traditionally I am on the religious right,

But I couldn't even vote for any "right" or "religious" in this government,

And their actions haven't proven me anything other than being grateful its not my fault,

Because for the first time, I voted for someone without a Kippa, and I have no regrets,

I went because I am impressed that so many people have something so important to fight for,

And to learn exactly what they were really protesting against (the government, not specifically the reforms),

I went, but I don't absolve the left wing leaders from blame, they benefit from the chaos,

I went, but behaved in a way I wished others did, without blocking roads, lighting fires, and vandalizing,

I went because I wish the right wing leaders did/could,

I went because if one side "wins" it would be trampling the others.

I went because negotiation and compromise are not a swear words,

I went because I have higher expectations from all of our leaders, wishing they could make me proud,

I went because this is their country the exact same amount it is mine, even if we disagree on things,

I went to be with my brothers and sisters, who are feeling like their country is crashing,

I went to the protest for five minutes, and I hope I don't want to go to the next one for ten.
